Hello and welcome to ProfessionalMums.net.

We are a global employment community for professionally qualified women where we match highly-experienced mothers with family-friendly firms, companies and organisations.

My name is Kate Mills and I’ve been a journalist for nearly 20 years with my most recent role as editor of a leading Australian business magazine. I started my career in legal journalism in London and have followed the changes in the professions ever since. Over that time I’ve seen how hard it is for mothers to remain working in the profession.

Then five years ago I became a mum myself and began to experience firsthand some of the hurdles that working mothers face. As a journalist I’ve been deeply involved in the debate about working mothers, but with ProfessionalMums.net what I wanted to do was create a practical solution for working mothers.

In 2013 we launched ProfessionalMums.net in Australia and the message has caught on.  We have had a great reception from mums and firms like, both in Australia and internationally. So in 2014 we decided to launch the service in other countries.  So if you are interested in getting involved in ProfessionalMums.net in your country please contact me, I’d love for this service to go global since many of our member firms are global and the issues we have here in Australia are the same the world over.

Mums looking to register and join our community

If you are a mum then please go to the website for your country, just click the flag and follow the instructions.  You can register to join our community or just receive our news and blogs. Our database of registered professional mums will be available to organisations seeking lawyers, accountants, engineers, consulting engineers, management consultants and IT consultants. For these firms it’s a way of increasing the number of women they have in work, and for women it’s a way of marketing yourselves as mothers who are committed to work but want that elusive work/life balance.

Employers looking to subscribe to our database

For employers I encourage you to participate in our community. Many firms pay a lip-service to the concept of flexibility for working mothers – being part of our community is a way to make your commitment to keeping more mothers in the workplace something that is real. The beauty of our database is that we have done all the hard work for you, where else can you find a source of experienced professionally qualified talent that supports gender diversity? I’d love to hear from you, so please contact me directly or through the link on the website specific to your country.

Thank you for your support!
